Housing services

General information

Residential resources are designed for persons who can no longer remain in their natural living environment, in spite of the support of their family and friends and services provided in the home.

For the most part, these persons are experiencing a loss of functional autonomy, or have a chronic disease, cognitive problems or serious mental health problems. They are referred to two types of accommodations depending on their level of disability: residential centres or non-institutional resources, also referred to as intermediate or family type resources.

Key words: family-type resources (FTR), intermediate resources (IR), CHSLD.
