Do you know where to go besides the emergency department?

CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest

Need to see a doctor?

Unfortunately, cold and flu season is in full swing. Often, our first reflex is to head to the nearest emergency room. However, several other options exist that:

  • are often better suited to your health condition;
  • will avoid you being exposed to other viruses;
  • will shorten your wait time for treatment.

Before going to emergency:

Call 811

(available 24/7)

Make an appointment with:

  1. your family doctor;
  2. a winter clinic;
  3. a clinic/FMG that offers walk-in emergency appointments.

    You’ll most likely get an appointment for the same day or the next day.

Consult your pharmacist

For health and medication advice, and the renewal of certain prescriptions.
