During a previous exercise, the Government of Quebec approved the 2011-2014 Program of access to health services and social services in English for English speaking people in the Montérégie. This access program, which is still in force, was drawn up by virtue of section 348 of the Act respecting health services and social services (RSQ, Chapter S-4.2) based on the Cadre de référence pour l'élaboration des programmes d'accès aux services de santé et aux services sociaux en langue anglaise pour les personnes d'expression anglaise - MSSS, 2006 (Frame of reference for the implementation of programs of access to health and social services in the English language for English-speaking people)
In addition, following the adoption of the Act to modify the organization and governance of the health and social services network, in particular by abolishing the regional agencies, the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux has asked the regions to up-date their access program in order to reflect the current nomenclature and organization of the network. This initiative, which is transient, is designed to indicate the services accessible according to facility rather than by institution and in no way changes the previously indicated service offer. For the Montérégie, among others, it involves the withdrawal of the past Centres de santé et de services sociaux de la Haute-Yamaska and La Pommeraie which, from now on, will be included in the access program of the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et des services sociaux de l'Estrie - Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke.
In response to this request, this document will complete the 2011-2014 Access Program for the Montérégie and will be applied until its revision.
