Unlike the individual follow-ups offered to parents residing on the territory, our support group “Paroles aux anges” is open to all parents, whether or not they live on the territory.
This group is intended for parents who have experienced a miscarriage, an elective abortion after discovering a birth defect, an ectopic pregnancy, a stillbirth, or an infant’s death during the first days or weeks after birth.
Brochures specifically designed for grieving parents are available in French and English.
A nurse will provide you with follow-up tailored to your needs and those of your baby:
In addition to follow-up by a nurse, you can request help at any time by calling your local CLSC.
See the Pregnancy follow-up page.
Two complementary components are offered: “Enceinte à deux,” which discusses the changes to expect during the nine months of pregnancy, followed by four prenatal classes to prepare parents for the delivery and caring for a newborn. They will cover topics of importance to expectant parents:
The early stages of pregnancy are a special time for future parents to navigate the new role they’ll soon be taking on. It’s an opportunity for the parents-to-be to get nutrition advice, information about the physical and physiological changes to expect during pregnancy, recommended lifestyle habits, etc.
Series of four prenatal classes
The first class should take place around week 28 of pregnancy.
The prenatal classes will cover four topics: labour and delivery, pain relief, breastfeeding, and caring for a newborn. During these four two-hour group classes, you will also get answers to the main questions you may have about your baby’s impending arrival.
The classes will take place at the CLSC et Centre de services ambulatoires de Vaudreuil-Dorion, at 3031 boulevard de la Gare, Vaudreuil-Dorion, in room 264, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
