As a case worker, you will contribute actively to creating favorable environments for the development of young people age 0 to 18. You will work in close collaboration with families and many professional partners.

In general, you will be called on to:

- Assess the situation and living conditions of a child for whom a report has been received and decide whether the child's safety and/or development are compromised (YPA).

- Make emergency interventions.

- Agree on an intervention plan with the family and the children and/or adolescents.

- Provide psychosocial services to young people and their families to put an end to compromising situations.

- Assess the situation and proceed to intervene with youth who have committed offences (YCJA).

We have a vacant bilingual position to fill on the flying squad (our mobile team) in the Western sector (Valleyfield, Vaudreuil and Châteauguay).

Description of the job title according to the MSSS nomenclature:

Person who carries on the activities of design, updating, analysis and evaluation in one or more social programs.

Depending on the type of activities required, must hold an undergraduate university degree in social sciences such as: criminology, social service, sexology, psychology.

The case worker who holds an undergraduate degree in social service and who is a member of the OTSTCFQ may use the appellation of Professional Social Worker. * N.B.: The academic titles of sociologist, sexologist, marital consultant or matrimonial consultant and criminologist continue in use.

* At the request of the employer, the person concerned shall provide proof of membership in the said Order.

Bachelor's degree in social service or criminology, or a Master's degree in Ed. Psychology.

Member of a professional order.

Possesses a valid driving license.

For certain assignments, an appropriate knowledge of the English language, both oral and written, may be required.

We have several assignments where bilingualism is required. For each of these bilingual assignments, there is a need to speak and write in English. For some bilingual assignments, the case load may be exclusively anglophones, while for others, it can vary between francophone and anglophone clients. We are currently studying the possibility of offering refresher language training for francophones and anglophones to improve the second language.

Salary minimum $23.96, maximum $44.12
