The Birth pavilion has 20 complete birthing rooms, where mother and newborn are followed as a family unit and where the family’s physical, psychosocial, cultural and financial needs are taken into consideration.

  • Mother‐infant rooming‐in right from birth
  • Prenatal observation phase
  • Follow-up of gestational diabetes
  • Care tailored to the needs of mothers and newborns
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Immediate postpartum follow-up
  • Specialized care for more vulnerable newborns

What you need to bring

For the mother

  • Health insurance, hospital and group insurance cards
  • Super-absorbent sanitary pads
  • Nursing pads, if required
  • Tissues
  • Toiletries: toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, deodorant, hair brush/comb, blow dryer, makeup, etc.
  • Pyjamas (with an opening at the front if you plan to breastfeed)
  • Robe and slippers
  • Underwear
  • Bra
  • Phone numbers of people waiting to hear the good news
  • Camera (optional)

For the baby

  • 40 disposable diapers (size 8-12 lb.) and wipes
  • Mild fragrance-free, dye-free baby soap
  • Small blanket
  • Going-home outfit
  • Approved car seat
