Your healthcare professional has prescribed a specimen collection test to learn more about your health condition or to help identify your health issue, and you need to book an appointment. A blood test, one type of specimen collection, can provide a wide range of information about your overall or specific health status.

You must have your health insurance card and a valid paper requisition. Any requisition that is not identified, not signed, completed incorrectly, or issued outside of Québec will be refused.
Description
People aged 50 to 74 can book an appointment themselves for colorectal cancer screening without having received a medical requisition.
At the time of their appointment, patients can visit one of the Local Service Points to be assessed by a nurse and, if appropriate, receive a colorectal cancer screening test.

The STBBI screening service is intended for people aged 25 and over who do not have symptoms.
If you do not have symptoms: You can book an appointment for an STBBI screening test (syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, hepatitis B or C) without having to see a doctor first. At your appointment, you will be assessed by a nurse, who will coordinate the tests and follow-up care. This service is free.

If you have symptoms: You need to make an appointment with your family doctor. If you do not have a family doctor, you can book an appointment through the Primary Care Access Point (PCAP) by filling out this form: gap.soinsvirtuels.gouv.qc.ca. If you need help completing it, dial 811 and select option 3.
Examples of common symptoms:
Users who have a requisition for a blood test must select the “Specimens and Blood Test” service from the main menu on Clic Santé.
Users aged 24 and under must choose the Youth Clinic option on Clic Santé to book an appointment (services offered at their local CLSC).
The screening tests use either a self-collected sample (produced on site) or a blood test, depending on the type of STBBI being screened for.

Screening for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular risk (cholesterol testing) helps detect these conditions early. You can book an appointment for a test without having to see a doctor first. A nurse will do the assessment and confirm whether you are eligible for the service; if so, they will determine which screening test is most appropriate for your situation.
At your appointment, you will be assessed by a nurse, who will coordinate the tests and follow-up care. You will be referred to a doctor if needed.

Description
This screening service is intended for individuals aged 3 years and older who have symptoms suggesting a Group A Streptococcal infection (fever, pain when swallowing, tender lymph nodes, and a sudden onset of severe sore throat).
During your visit, a nurse will conduct a clinical assessment followed by a screening test, if required. If the test result is positive, you will receive a referral form that will allow you to obtain the appropriate medication from your pharmacist.

To be eligible, you must have had a sore throat for less than 9 days.

Description
Local Service Points offer vaccination services for individuals aged 4 years and older.
During your visit, your vaccination status will be assessed to ensure your vaccines are up to date. If needed, recommended vaccines will be administered, and your vaccination record will be updated according to current guidelines.
