The objective of the refugee clinic is to provide health care and services to recent arrivals. As an anchor point in the healthcare system, it helps refugees get off to a better start in their new country.
The people referred to the clinic have immediate access to:
- an initial assessment service;
- a physical health work-up;
- a psychosocial wellness work-up;
- a multidisciplinary team comprised of doctors, nurses, social workers, and specialized nurse practitioners.
Treatments are also available on an ad hoc basis.
The team can also refer users to the right network resource (Québec Family Doctor Finder, vaccinations, psychosocial services, specialists, etc.).
The services are intended for refugees who are sponsored by the government, an organization or a family, or referred by the Maison internationale de la Rive-Sud
