Plusieurs types de dépistage sont offerts au Point de service local Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu

Colorectal cancer

People aged 50 to 74 can book an appointment themselves to undergo colorectal cancer screening, without having received a medical referral.

At the time of their appointment, users may present themselves at one of the two local service points to be assessed by a nurse and, if required, receive a colorectal screening test.

Appointments can be made through Clicsanté. A telephone line is also available for the screening appointment center at the following number: 1‑877‑817‑5279.

For all other age groups, please consult a healthcare professional to follow up on your medical condition, with or without the presence of symptoms.

COVID-19
Priority groups can undergo COVID‑19 screening at local service points. Call 1 877 817 5279 to schedule an appointment..
Pertussis Screening (whooping cough)
A medical consultation with a healthcare professional must be completed before making an appointment on Clic Santé or by calling 1-833 600-5932.
Chronic Diseases (Diabetes and Cholesterol)

Screening for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular risk (cholesterol) aims to detect these conditions at an early stage. You can make an appointment for testing without needing to see a doctor first. A nurse will carry out your assessment. She will confirm that you are eligible for the service and, if applicable, determine the appropriate screening test for your situation.

At the time of your appointment, you will be assessed by a nurse who will take care of the necessary tests and follow-ups. You will be referred to a doctor if needed.

Who can receive screening?

  • People aged between 18 and 75
  • People with no diagnosis of prediabetes, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or treated high blood pressure (medication for blood sugar, blood pressure, or cholesterol)

Group A Streptococcus 

This screening is intended for individuals aged 3 and older who present symptoms suggesting a Group A Streptococcus infection (fever, pain when swallowing, tender lymph nodes, and significant sore throat that appears suddenly).

It is offered 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., by appointment only through Clic Santé. If you are unable to book online or experience difficulties, please ask someone close to you for help or call 1‑877‑817‑5279.

During your visit, a nurse will perform a clinical assessment followed by a screening test, if needed. If the result is positive, you will be given a referral form so that your pharmacist can provide the appropriate medication.

Description

Vaccination for adults aged 18 and over is offered at local service points and some CLSCs, according to varying schedules, and by appointment only by phone at 450‑466‑6084. Your vaccination record will be assessed and updated as needed.

Shingles (Herpes Zoster) Vaccination

People aged 75 and over, as well as immunocompromised individuals aged 18 and over, can receive the shingles vaccine free of charge. Learn more.

The pneumococcal vaccine is recommended and free for people who are at higher risk of developing complications. Learn more.

Description

Vaccination services for children aged 2 months to 17 years. The vaccines offered include all immunizations listed in the Québec Immunization Program (PIQ) schedule.

Why vaccinate your child?

Vaccination provides better protection against certain serious diseases.

Your child cannot receive a vaccine if…

  • They have an acute, moderate, or severe illness, with or without fever.
  • They have previously experienced a severe allergic reaction to one of the components of the vaccine, such as eggs.

If in doubt, talk to your doctor or contact Info‑Santé at 8‑1‑1.

Vaccination for children aged 2 months to 4 years (minus one day)

This vaccination is offered at your CLSC, by appointment. You must bring your child’s vaccination record.

Vaccination for youth aged 4 to 17 years

This includes vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV). It is generally provided in schools, specifically in Grade 4 of elementary school and Secondary 3. If your child was absent on vaccination day or requires additional vaccines, you may book an appointment at the Saint‑Jean‑sur‑Richelieu Service Point.

Most vaccines for infants, children, and adolescents are free of charge.

Important : We do not administer vaccines obtained from external sources (e.g., purchased at a pharmacy).

If your child was vaccinated outside Québec

If your child was vaccinated outside Québec, and you do not have a Québec vaccination booklet (the blue booklet usually given at the hospital), and you would like to update your child’s vaccination record, please make photocopies of the pages of the vaccination booklet.

Then:

Option 1 — Drop off in person

Bring the documents to the Saint‑Jean‑sur‑Richelieu Local Service Point, located at:

from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Option 2 — Send by email

Scan or photograph the pages of the vaccination booklet and send them to:
